service-hepatitis Our Weight Loss Clinic can help you achieve a sustained and healthy weight loss, with ongoing advice and support alongside prescription medication treatments. These medications work to decrease your appetite and therefore reduce your food intake, or reduce the absorption of dietary fat. Eligibility criteria for the clinic are:
  • You are aged 18 to 75
  • You have a BMI of over 30
  • Or a BMI of over 27 but have been diagnosed with a condition that is made worse by weight gain such as a heart condition
The treatments we offer as part of our clinic are Saxenda injections and a medication called Orlistat. Orlistat 120mg is a prescription-only weight loss aid for adult patients with a BMI over 30 or for those with associated risk factors (such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure or high cholesterol) and a BMI above 28. It is currently the only approved weight loss medication in the UK and combined with a healthy lower-calorie, reduced-fat diet and exercise it can help you lose more weight than by dieting alone. Saxenda is a prescription-only weight loss medication for people who are overweight or obese. The Saxenda weight loss injection is a very simple to use, virtually pain-free daily injection. Taking Saxenda as per the guidelines results in you taking control of your appetite, feeling full after smaller meal sizes and therefore you should lose a significant amount of weight. You will be required to have a consultation with our pharmacist who will determine if our treatments are suitable for you. If you are eligible, the pharmacist will advise you on how to use the treatment as well as follow up consultations to see how you are getting on with the medication.
